We decide to set down to the Amecon convention a day early simply just to avoid a tiring journey as we did last year and to register early to get the most out of the weekend.
After a long journey from Wakefield we settle into our bed and breakfast and don’t waste much time in finding the nearest bar. Just off London Road we spend a good time at the Lansdowne waiting for two more members to join our party. (Image below Paul - left, James - right)

While we wait, we neck a number of drinks with James (Critty) and Paul (Cheese Sarny). Afterwards when everyone has arrived we head off to an Italian and then back to the Lansdowne.
Afterwards we head back to the B&B to finish the night we start working on the whiskey and enjoy a lot of South Park on my laptop (make love not warcraft..awesome episode " How do you kill that which has no life? "). The above picture is Critty giving the middle finger from our room while he watched some guys steal or move maybe a washing machine from a house??

After a brief hangover in the morning setting off to the convention at the University was a 10 minute walk. When we arrived the queues for registration was long this was about 12pm, but looking at all the other members and guests in cosplay it looked like another great convention was about to take place.

But another good thing to come from this was that the queue for our registration was short I mean 10-30 seconds, as Borat says "Great Success". Unlucky for James and Paul they had to spend waiting in the queue for 30 minutes. When we got our badges they were still at the back of the queue as you can see below all I could do was gloat and laugh.
When the rest of the group got their passes the dealers room not open yet we spent some time in the games room, watching Paul perform Top Gears Theme Jessica on Guitar Hero.

When the dealers was open having to wait in the queue for 30 mins was worth it, having bought too much pokey, t-shirts and weird addictive chewy sweets we headed off to the union for a quick one.
James...again at the Gundam Mad Stall have we seen this before? Amecon 2006...maybe?
Joe at the Gundam Stall in the Dealers Room for the first day of the convention.

Outside the union, just enjoying the warm weather and cool pints in plastic cups?? Didn't know the university was expecting a football riot over the weekend.
After getting a bite to eat at a chinese we spent some time at the union to enjoy the rest of the evening.

After a good nap it was back to the University to catch some good deals at the dealers room, compared to yesterday it was a lot busier mainly due to more stalls who had arrived on Saturday Morning.
Spending a fair amount of time in the dealers and games room we moved onto the video rooms to watch the first two episodes of Excel Saga
In the evening the highly anticipated Masquerade took place and another union party playing Jpop and other trance music. Most of the other pictures will be available soon so far images from the Masquerade have been put onto the website.

After the Masquerade it was back to the bar don't need to explain what happened here...beer, JPop and glow sticks.
On our last day it was time to snap up some bargains at the dealers and I got a Neon Genesis Evangelion Model Eva 01 Perfect Grade Limited Edition from the Gundam Mad Stall. Looks awesome was worried that when queuing to get cash out the ATM to purchase the model it would of been already gone.
So if you were wondering what happend to it, I was the one who bought it before You!!

Back at the B&B admiring my new purchase we grabbed a sandwich and spent some more time at the local bar the Lansdowne before setting off to the last Amecon party at the union to close the convention off. The final words from one of the convention organizers was "See you next year". With the party over and the convention now closed having been to last years event comparing both of them this year was definitely a massive improvement on a already great convention.
All that is left to say is "See you next year".
